EBS European Business School (non-profit) GmbH is an institution, which has been awarded the status of a university by the German state of Hesse. The sole partner of EBS is the European Business School Foundation. The foundation is non-profit making and comprises renowned companies and successful entrepreneurs and organizations. The EBS has one of the three-largest business studies faculties in Germany with 1,200 students and 59 professors and designated guest professors / lecturers from around the world in five departments and is classed in the top 15 in German-wide research rankings.

One in four of the some 20,000 students at TU München are from foreign countries. The University of Hamburg is the largest and most diverse research institution in Northern Germany. Its research profile encompasses a wealth of individual achievements as well as interdisciplinary areas of focus. The six faculties of the University of Hamburg offer all the disciplines of a comprehensive university – from law, economics and social sciences to the humanities and cultural sciences, from the natural sciences and informatics to medicine. With close to 38,000 students, and the 3,600 members of the academic staff, of which 690 are professors, the University of Hamburg is one of the largest in Germany.

The University of Potsdam was designed as a classical university. Five faculties form the pillars of the institution. They are the Philosophical Faculty, Humanities, Law, Economics and Social Sciences and the Natural Sciences-Mathematics Faculty. Presently approximately 16,000 students study in the various departments of the University of Potsdam, including about 1,300 foreign students from more than 85 countries, thus making it the largest university in Brandenburg.

University of Applied Sciences Kiel
With around 5,400 students, the University of Applied Sciences Kiel is the largest of its kind in Schleswig-Holstein in northern Germany. The university offers a broad range of academic disciplines including about 30 Bachelor and Masters programs, post-graduate studies, career and professional training in the areas of information technology, electrical engineering, agricultural sciences, mechanical engineering, media, health and social studies as well as economics.
