Dr. Oleg Kovrigin
Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Oleg Kovrigin is co-founder and CTO of alfabet AG, the standard software provider for strategic IT planning and management. Since founding the company with Erik Masing in 1997 in Berlin Germany, Kovrigin has led development of alfabet’s technology platform and product. Today, leading industry experts and analysts position alfabet at the forefront of the enterprise architecture and IT planning market through a continuing commitment to vision and technology leadership. The company has more than 70 employees and a user community of more than 16.000 IT professionals in over 40 countries with operations across Europe, the US and the Asia Pacific.
Prior to that Kovrigin co-founded the company mip AG in 1995 which paved the way for the foundation of alfabet. Dr. Oleg Kovrigin studied Computer Science at the Moscow Aviation University where he successfully completed his doctorate between 1980 and 1983. During this time he also served at the Russian Academy of Science, Institute of System Analysis as a Senior Researcher and later as Head of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence department. Kovrigin has written and published over 20 publications on Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. In 1988 he wrote a book entitled „Medical Expert Systems “ which was widely published in Russia. In 2001 as co-founder of alfabet AG, he was selected for the Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur of the Year” award.
