alfabet Tops Competitors in Comprehensive Study of EA Products by Technical University of Munich In a recently published, independent study by the Technical University of Munich, alfabet’s planningIT software outperformed other vendors in 14 of the 17 categories. The survey was undertaken between July 2007 and April 2008 by the chair for Software Engineering for Business Information System (sebis) at the TU Munich together with 30 industry partners who provided input regarding every day EA management tasks and real-world scenarios against which the participating tools would be evaluated. The study, unique in its rigorous, hands-on testing, examined 11 vendors on their execution of specific functionality such as Impact Analysis and Reporting, Creating Visualizations and Communication and Collaboration Support as well as their support for EA Management in activities such as Landscape Management, Demand Management and Strategies and Goals Management. The results confirm alfabet as the undisputed technology leader in the field of EAM and strategic IT planning. alfabet’s planningIT was able to handle large amount of data and larger user counts as required in a processual approach spanning more groups and people to automate the EAM efforts. Moreover, only planningIT was able to support all process-orientated activities.
